Ross Duncan

Ross Duncan was the #1 ranked junior player in South Africa before being recruited to the United States to attend Pepperdine University and University of California, Santa Barbara on a full scholarship. Following graduation, Ross played on the professional tour gaining ATP points in both singles and doubles. He spent 8 years playing in the prestigious German Bundesliga for TSV Schott Mainz. Ross is a certified USPTA Professional level 1 coach. Associate Head Coach at the University of Oregon and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Full time traveling coach of professional German tennis player Marlene Weingartner #30 WTA ranking. Has been the director of Nike Tennis Camps in Oregon and California for the last 8 years.

Making history:

  • Captained the University of California, Santa Barbara to its first Sweet 16 finish in school history.
  • Coached the University of Oregon player Sven Swinnen to its highest individual ranking in school history and first team win over rival University of Washington in over 69 years.
  • Helped Team Germany to its first ever win over Team Russia in Federation Cup Play in Dresden, Germany. Numerous students earned most improved player awards in high school tennis.

Marcio Pepe

Marcio brings an incredible amount of experience and expertise to Peak Performance Tennis.

Having grown up on clay as a junior in Brazil he plays, knows and understands all the intricies of the clay court style.

He was a top 10 junior in Brazil, traveled the globe playing junior tennis before coming to the United States on a tennis scholarship at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

He was named team captain in 1998 before graduating and playing professional tennis in Europe and prize money tournaments in France

After graduating from college, Marcio developed a passion for teaching tennis. He has coached kids and adults of all levels and his unique coaching techniques have paid off. He has produced multiple players that are now playing college tennis on a scholarship or professional. Before moving to Orange County, Marcio has his own tennis Academy in San Jose, CA.

Bethany Bortz

Bethany Borts Tennis Coordinator – Beth has been working in the tennis industry for the past five years scheduling private and group lessons as well taking care of all the administrative work. Her public relation skills, organization, friendliness and promptness will make working with Peak Performance Tennis an enjoyable and friendly experience.


Joel Preciado

Joel Preciado brings a lot of experience to Peak Performance Tennis. He has been playing Tennis since 8 years old and after going through the ranks of tournament play and high school Tennis his main passion for the game is in a coaching role. He has several years of coaching experience with the City of Newport Beach, City of Tustin and the City of Irvine and has also worked at the Nike Tennis Camp in Irvine.

Joel specializes and focuses on the fundamentals of the game and enjoys teaching by carefully breaking the strokes down and working on each part in an incremental way allowing for maximum improvement and natural progression.
